The blessings of Nature

JoAnn and I bought an outdoor love seat earlier this year and installed it on the front porch of our townhome. It’s one of my favorite spots. I love stretching out my long legs on the loveseat and immersing myself in a bit of outdoor ambience.

Two large trees, a magnificent blue spruce and an equally magnificent fir, keep me company. The blue spruce is only about 15 feet away, the fir about 30 feet away at a higher level. I enjoy communing with these trees, and I’m quite sure they enjoy communing with each other. Who knows, maybe one of these days I’ll become a tree whisperer.

Some wild bunnies usually keep me company too. They make their home under our porch and find the grass around the spruce tree especially tasty. As long as I don’t make any sudden moves, they usually tolerate me when I go outside to spend a few minutes on our love-seat in my ‘outdoor room.’

How steadfast is Nature. How good is Nature. In these sometimes worrying and upsetting times, I am so grateful for the blessings that Nature brings into my life.

Do you have any thoughts or experiences with Nature you’d like to share? Would love to hear from you.
