You are loved

you are loved

You are loved.

Young or old, rich or poor, whatever your circumstances or your nationality, and regardless of whether you are religious or not – you are loved.

Regardless of your foibles, you are loved. I say this with some confidence because none of my own foibles has succeeded in changing the unchanging nature of love in any way in my experience.

Love was with you when you were born and before you were born. It is with you now and will be with you when you die.

Perhaps you can look back on your life, like me, and see occasions when you felt unloved. Perhaps you feel unloved right now.

But love does not change and it never will. The ancient words are true, “Love never fails.”

Have you dreams in your heart that you cherish, but you’re not sure how they will work out, or even if they will work out? Or perhaps you face challenges whose outcome, again, is hard to predict?

Trust love. Know that you are loved.

What I have learned in 80 years of living is that it doesn’t really matter what life throws at us. The love that we are is not going to change and it’s not going to be defeated.

You are loved. It’s written in a heavenly document that is not subject to any changes.

Sometimes we lose somebody who was very close to us and it is hard, very hard. Sometimes somebody comes into our life who transforms us forever, and it is wonderful. I can confirm from my own experience that the love glowing in me and in you is unchanged by any of it.

You are loved.

Eben Alexander, MD, author of the beautiful, best-selling book, Proof of Heaven, which I highly recommend, puts it this way:

“None of us is unloved. Each and every one of us is deeply known and cared for by a Creator who cherishes us beyond any ability we have to comprehend. That knowledge must no longer remain a secret.”

I send you my sincere love and blessings. May we trust love. May we trust life. May we each become increasingly conscious, as the tumult of these times continues, of the love that dwells deep within each one of us and that no power in heaven or earth can touch or spoil or diminish in any way.

Always a great pleasure to hear from you Elana. Best wishes and blessings to you as we move full throttle into 2013. Oh dear. Do you think it’s going to fly by as quick as the last one? It’s hardly fair when you reach a certain age…

Nadeja January 11, 2013 at 4:07 pm

OOPs that got away from me before I completed it… As I was saying we ARE loved!
Thank you Chis for the love you bring into our world. Blessings to you and all with you,

Christopher Foster January 11, 2013 at 7:20 pm

Hi Nadeja, thanks for your kind comment. Blessings to you too and your loved ones. Love can travel pretty fast, can’t it? A miracle really. How is the weather there in the far, far north:-) It’s actually darn cold today here in Denver, we have a big football game here tomorrow, I hope it doesn’t affect the game too much. How could I have ever guessed I would end up being a Broncos fan?

Nadeja January 12, 2013 at 7:09 am

Our weather has been quite mild! we expect a high of 11 C today. That has to be about 50 ish. Snow is melting away. I used to be a Dallas fan and then a Green Bay Packers fan :). These days, I don’t watch football. but Go Broncos go!!! I could easily get on board with all my friends in Colorado and cheer for them too!!! :0

Beautifully said, Christopher. Love heals and lifts and forgives and soothes and strengthens and emboldens and encourages and reforms.

Thanks for being a source of all that here.

Yet another fine post! Thanks for this. We forget sometimes that we emanate from love and we will return to love. Lately I’ve been compelled to send love to various people I know and some I don’t. I do this in the early morning before I arise and sometimes even before I open my eyes (because once I do that I’m pounced upon by two toy poodles who love me very much. See, you’re right, I AM loved!) That gentle act of sending love makes me not just loved but love itself. You can be sure Christopher that you’re on my love list for tomorrow morning!

Christopher Foster January 11, 2013 at 7:31 pm

Thanks so much for your lovely comment Diana. We do indeed emanate from love and for myself I find it rather comforting to think that as you say, that is where we will return. Or perhaps we haven’t even really left. We’re where we always are but being physically on the scene in this world kind of pulls the wool over our eyes a bit..

I love your description of life with your two toy poodles…give them my love okay and keep some for yourself too of course?

Hi Chris… this is a new email for me… Wonderful write up – thank you so much…
Thinking of you… blessings… Love Bette

Christopher Foster January 11, 2013 at 7:35 pm

Hey Bette, how are you, thanks so much for stopping by and love and blessings to you too. Did I ever ask you where you live by the way? Since I mostly file things in my head and my head isn’t the most organized place in the world I sometimes .. well, nuff said, nuff said.

Chris you will never know how timely and hopefilled this “You Are Loved” post is. We are in the midst of the “mountain climb” of our lives; life has set before us a chronic illness that has proven elusive and and humbling. This crisis has even managed to bring estrangement within our family, and I often feel like the “odd man out”. I read my Pema Chodron, Eckhart Tolle, Marianne Williamson and Elizabeth Lesser searching for support and comfort during this struggle. But here in your blog I see the most comforting words of all “Love was with you when you were born and before you were born. It is with you now and will be with you when you die.” As you say “May we trust love. May we trust life.” Thank you Chris, from the bottom of my heart.

Thank you, Maureen, and bless you. You are a strong woman and you are going to come through this. Whatever insight you need to “climb this mountain,” whatever the missing piece so to speak of the puzzle may be, it will emerge. The person or persons who can help you will emerge. And you yourself will emerge into a new experience of joy and freedom — a greater awareness of your undying self. Trust life Maureen. My love and blessings to you. Please keep in touch.
